In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, sharing his views on whether actors are choosing wrong films or the films themselves are to be blamed, Taran Adarsh said, “I think a lot of them were bad films. I would call Vikram Vedha and Jersey bad films, as many such films tanked at the box office for multiple reasons. I was watching Shamshera; I started looking at everything except the screen, which meant that the film is not holding my attention. That is when I realised something was wrong with the film. I was very restless while watching Cirkus”.
Talking about bad films, Taran added, “There were films that were completely below average products in terms of making, storytelling, and content. I think it was valid for these kind of films to be considered flop. I personally like Vikram Vedha, maybe because I had seen the original version and I had loved it. I saw the Hindi version, I liked it. But when I spoke to a lot exhibitors on the day of release, they said that the film was very dry, and questioned me regarding what did I like in it. They said that there was no Hrithik Roshan’s romance, in fact Hrithik Roshan was not even looking like Hrithik Roshan of War. However, this was their perspective”.
Further sharing his viewpoint on film Jersey, Taran said, “I loved the original version of film Jersey and it was the same director who had directed the Hindi version. However, it did not work. I had loved the Telugu version, but when I saw the Hindi version, I told him that this is not going to work because I felt that the grip that is needed in the film was lacking. You need to keep the audience glued”.
“Why did RRR, KGF score more; it is because you are sitting for two hours right from Ram Charan’s introduction to the last fight, which meant that it was holding your attention. One thing happens after another and that too in such fast pace that you don’t even get time to blink your eyes. But in this case, if you start feeling restless, then something is wrong with the film”, Taran added.
